The Art of "DOING NOTHING"

So during our walk this morning (yes we chose to wake up at 6am on a non-bootcamp morning and go for a walk) Pri and I got to talking about having the ability to do nothing!

For those of you that know my hubby - his brain is planning his daily action item before his eyes open in the morning. It is safe to say... that he has NOT mastered this art where as I have long before we moved to Sydney.

In my mind - there is time and a place for everything and sometimes it does the brain and body good to NOT think about or DO anything! I am perfectly happy waking up some morning without a plan and without a list of things I need to do but some times I also need it to feel like I achieved anything out of my day. Again.. there is a time and place for everything!

So as a challenge to myself - I am going to set one of my Sydney objectives to teach my hubby how to do this without making him super lazy in process.  I will try to teach him and take pictures to document my success or failure.

Not sure if this is a product of my boredom or because I actually am curious to see if he can change when he brain has been moulded a certain way. Oh well.. we shall see!

OVERALL REALIZATION: (You must realized this first)

  • It is OK to not have a plan - once you accept that your world is not going to end you will be happier for it.

Stage 1 Goals:
1. When you wake up - you must daydream for at least 5 minutes  to get your mind use to "doing nothing" in the day. (This number will increase over time)

2. You must sleep in until at atleast 10am - one day a week (no more/no less) and not be upset that you did.
